Hi, I'm Brett.

I recently completed my PhD at the University of California Santa Barbara, and I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Critical Computational Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt.

In general my research explores the ways that societies and markets develop (or fail to develop) governance approaches to address risks and complexities posed by new and emerging technologies. Most of my current projects are centered around big data, artificial intelligence and algorithmic governmentality.
